UN Climate Change Conference (COP23)
6-17 November 2017

From 6-17 November 2017 the 23rd Session of the Conference of Parties (COP23), hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, took place at its headquarters in Bonn.

FAO provides technical advice to its member countries to support their involvement in climate change negotiations, ensuring that the linkages between climate change, agriculture and food security are made. The agriculture sectors are key in addressing climate change.

As a leader of the Marrakech Partnership thematic events on Agriculture and Oceans, FAO facilitated dialogue and fostered participation on Agriculture and Ocean issues. It ensured the prominence of agriculture and food security at the SDG 2 High-Level Political Event. Side events featured and showcased the work and expertise of FAO and advanced multi-stakeholder engagement in FAO dialogue and solutions.
