The Paris Agreement called for the establishment of a Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) trust fund administered by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The CBIT aims at: strengthening national institutions' capacity for conducting transparency-related activities in line with national priorities; providing relevant tools, training and assistance for meeting the provisions stipulated in Article 13 of the Paris Agreement; and assisting in improving transparency over time.

FAO is organizing a workshop on the “M&E of climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector”. The workshop will support the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ efforts to design an M&E system for tracking nationally determined contributions (NDC) adaptation priorities.

Colombia’s nationally determined contributions (NDC) indicator was updated based an initial workshop and semi-structured interviews held with ten producer unions. FAO Colombia also developed a conceptual framework and a tool to assess climate adaptation capacities of ten agricultural subsectors.
