Incentives for sustainable agriculture and the role of smart soil and water information

About the event
: This event will illustrate how better access to agro-ecosystem information and coordinated incentives can enable farmers’ transition to sustainable agriculture. The purpose of the event is also to analyze examples of information technologies and the integrated, cross-sectoral approaches that link agricultural and environmental sectors to promote sustainable soil and water management.

The event is jointly organized by the FAO Programme on Incentives for Ecosystem Services and the Netherlands Water Partnership, in partnership with the Global Soil Partnership and with financial support from the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture.

Country perspectives: adoption barriers in integrated land and water management, and relevance of low-cost innovative information systems at grassroots level
