The newly convened Advisory Group of the Commit to Grow Equality initiative came together for the first time in December 2025 to discuss the Group’s mandate and future modalities for engagement.
The Advisory Group provides strategic direction for the CGE initiative, helping to shape its priorities and champion its agenda worldwide. Representing CGE’s diverse pool of partners, its members will also contribute their technical expertise to strengthen the knowledge base on gender equality and women’s empowerment in agrifood systems.
“At the AlphaMundi Foundation, we see that when women thrive, entire economies thrive. We are proud to join the CGE Advisory Group and support CGE’s efforts to mobilize partners in an effort to make agrifood systems work better for women,” said Sawa Nakagawa, Executive Director of the AlphaMundi Foundation and one of the members of the Advisory Group.
The Group is composed of seven institutional representatives of CGE’s partners. Each member serves a two-year term, in addition to which FAO will be represented as a standing member of the Group.
An important role of the Advisory Group is to champion the initiative, inspire new partners to join and mobilize support for CGE objectives at global, regional and national levels.
“We hope to count on Advisory Group members – both as ambassadors and through their strategic advice – to enhance the visibility and reach of Commit to Grow Equality, helping us to expand the scope of the initiative and get as many committed partners to join as possible,” added Clara Park, Senior Gender Officer at FAO, speaking on behalf of the CGE Core Team.
