This partnership will promote and strengthen joint actions and projects which have the potential to improve the employability of youth and women in agro-sylvo-pastoral value chains and reduce rural poverty. The collaboration will focus on strengthening technical capacities and mobilizing financial support for these objectives, and creating new model companies for the benefit of groups of young people and women involved agro-sylvo-pastoral, fisheries and wildlife value chains.

This partnership will support regional, national and local financial institutions in boosting agricultural financing for sustainable agrifood systems investment, including financing to smallholder and family farmers and small and medium agrifood enterprises. The collaboration also envisages support to private investment for sustainable agrifood systems, including policy support and promotion of innovative financing approaches such as blended finance. Other potential engagement areas include the Food Coalition and the Hand-in-Hand Initiative. The closer collaboration between the two entities will provide an opportunity to mobilize financial resources, policy assistance support and technical expertise to contribute to agri-food systems transformation with large scale impacts...

FAO and CCOIC share common objectives with regard to end poverty and hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, thus to make livelihoods inclusive, safe and sustainable. Both parties intend develop and detail their cooperation and effectiveness in the following fields: aligning Chinese businesses with the SDGs by 2030; capacity building on sustainable food system and agricultural development; knowledge sharing and exchange of information; and promoting cooperation on resilience building and coping with disasters and fragility.

The partnership will allow COLEACP and the IPPC Secretariat to further shared goals and objectives with regards to i) enhancing global food security and increasing sustainable agricultural productivity, ii) protecting the environment from the impacts of plant pests, and iii) facilitating safe trade, development, and economic growth. The collaboration will focus on strengthening phytosanitary capacities: at a national level in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, and at a global level through training materials, workshops, communication and advocacy.

This partnership commits to undertake joint studies or projects in specific  areas; i) facilitate in capacity building and training, through internships, fellowships, and lectures, as appropriate; ii) promote knowledge sharing and dissemination of information; and iii) engage in advocacy and awareness-raising through joint events and exhibitions in areas of mutual interest.
