The partnership will promote sustainable food and agriculture and address related topics such as assessment of soil fertility and the sustainable use of fertilizers. Together, FAO and IFA will encourage the continuous improvement of fertilizer statistics to inform agriculture policy and support evidence-based decision making; support increased agricultural productivity through the implementation of the International Code of Conduct for Sustainable Use and Management of Fertilizers; and work to minimize the impact of fertilizers on the environment through integrated approaches to plant nutrition, including efficiency in use of fertilizers and promotion of bio fertilizers and biostimulants.

FAO and Mandulis Energy Limited intend to connect farmer groups in Uganda to Mandulis Energy and support them to become suppliers of agriculture residue at fair market prices. The collaboration intends to support farmers' income diversification and, in turn, improve household's access to alternative energy sources. In addition, FAO and Mandulis also have the intention to develop joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the supply side of processed agriculture residues as part of energy value chain development through value addition activities by farmer associations and/or cooperatives.

The Letter of Intent established between the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth, Public Authority for small and medium enterprise (SME) Development, Oman India Fertiliser Company S.A.O.C (OMIFCO) and FAO declared their intention to work together and develop a joint partnership programme for strenghtening SME's capacities for sustainable apiculture value chain in the Sultanate of Oman, within the framework of private public partnerships. The collaboration intends to lead to improved rural livelihoods and Omani families' well-being through strenghtening the apiculture value chain while contributing to economic diversification.
