This partnership aims to contribute to achieving food security for all and ensuring that people have regular access to enough high quality food to lead active, healthy lives. Together, FAO and SIPPO will promote sustainable food exports, create employment opportunities, secure livelihoods and improve incomes while ensuring sustainable management of natural resources. In addition, the partnership will promote sustainable fish and seafood trade through Development and Technical Programmes, norms and standard setting, knowledge management and dissemination, advocacy and communication and policy dialogue.

FAO and the World Economic Forum (WEF) intend to explore collaboration in several areas of common interest such as enhancing public-private sector dialogue for increased investment, engaging and leading a data and digital coalition, and promoting work towards inclusive, efficient, sustainable and healthy agrifood systems, including through support to food innovation hubs.

FAO and the WUWM will focus on reducing food loss and waste and improving food markets and distribution systems. The partnership will carry out joint initiatives, activities and programmes in the following areas of cooperation: knowledge development and knowledge sharing; dissemination of good practices; awareness and advocacy; and promotion of capacity development to reduce food loss and waste (FLW) and the organization of and participation in joint events.
