Send a Cow is an international NGO with its roots in the UK and working in six countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The organisation gives communities and families the hope and the means to create better futures from the land. Its community-based training centres around the pillars of sustainable farm systems, gender empowerment & inclusion, health & hygiene and social enterprise.

On a visit to one of Send a Cow's projects in the stunning Southern Highlands of Ethiopia, a young boy appeared and without any hesitation demonstrated that he knew exactly where he could get a drink of milk!

Having a productive cow in the family ensures the health & nutrition of her calf but also supplements the staple diet of the whole family (with protein, fat, minerals & vitamins), and may even leave enough to sell, creating a small income for the family.
