Livestock and animal husbandry plays a significant role in economic development of the marginal farmers of rural India. As compared to other livestock species, goats are preferred for small scale farming by women farmers because of their smaller size, high kidding rates and easy management. In India, small scale goat farming is dominated by women farmers as it provides an alternative solution for improved livelihood and revenue generation for their families. This picture was clicked in a rural village of Mirzapur, a region in the eastern Uttar Pradesh.
