Bilateral meeting with Dr H. Moeldoko, Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia

Rome – FAO Director-General QU Dongyu and Dr H. Moeldoko, Chief of Staff of the Executive Office of the President of Indonesia, met on the sidelines of the World Food Forum (WFF) 2023.

Dr Moeldoko highly praised the World Food Forum by stating that it fully aligns with Indonesia’s vision of harnessing the creativity, innovation and energy of youth to pave the way for sustainable agricultural practices. He appreciated FAO’s efforts and called for “bringing talks to real action”. Dr Moeldoko congratulated the Director-General for his successful re-election, and noted that under his leadership the Organization can be a UN champion to support Members to achieve the SDGs through agrifood systems transformation.

The Director-General appreciated Indonesia’s participation in the WFF and noted the importance Indonesia places on agriculture and youth, and committed to continue supporting and strengthen collaboration. The pair further discussed strengthening collaboration on tropical agriculture and empowerment of youth, as well as other key areas of importance to the country.
