Bilateral meeting with the Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan - His Excellency Yerbol Karashukeev
Rome - FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, and H.E. Yerbol Karashukeev, Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met on the margins of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment taking place at FAO headquarters from 24 to 26 July.
The Minister congratulated the Director-General on the re-election for the second term and expressed his hope that under the Director-General’s leadership FAO will continue to play an important role in international fora.
The Minister briefed the Director-General on the good cooperation with the FAO Office in Kazakhstan, and shared the country’s strategy to become a leading regional supplier of agricultural products. The Minister also mentioned key areas where FAO’s expertise is needed and expressed his Government’s readiness to scale up collaboration.
The pair also discussed the importance of investing in young professionals to ensure great number of high-level experts in the future.
