Bilateral meeting with the Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - H.E. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen AlFadley

Rome - The FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, met with H.E. H.E. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen AlFadley, Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the UN Food Systems Summit +2.

The Minister congratulated the Director-General on his re-election confirming that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to collaborate with FAO in support of national and regional priorities.

The Director-General welcomed the Minister and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation, focusing on upscaling science, innovation and technology in the region.

The Minister expressed appreciation for FAO's commitment to enhancing cooperation, especially in support of Saudi Arabia's agrifood systems transformation and water management efforts.

The pair agreed to advance discussion on implementing the HiH Initiative in recipient countries, expanding engagement in the Green Cities initiative, supporting private sector investment and promoting regional engagement in the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative.
