Bilateral meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia - H.E. Datuk Lokman Hakim bin Ali

Rome - The FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Datuk Lokman Hakim bin Ali, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment taking place at FAO Headquarters from 24 to 26 July.
The Secretary General thanked the Director-General for the meeting, congratulated the Director-General for his second term, and briefly introduced the agrifood policies of Malaysia. He referred to benefits that Malaysia gained from FAO’s programmes and projects, and looked forward to more collaboration with FAO.
The Director-General reaffirmed FAO’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Malaysia, and welcomed Malaysia’s participation at the World Food Forum to be held in October in Rome.
The pair shared opinions on modern agriculture and agreed to strengthen cooperation on green transformation, digital agriculture, women and youth’s participation and engagements in agriculture, as well as education, so as to transform and progress agrifood systems to a new era.
