FAO Director-General and Eswatini Deputy Prime Minister discuss climate change

18 November 2019, Rome - FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu met today with Themba Masuku, Eswatini Deputy Prime Minister.
In their talks, the parties discussed the severe droughts of 2018-2019 and the negative effects on countries’ food security.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Director-General for the implementation of new projects in his country, as part of the FAO Technical Cooperation Programme, and commended him for his vision and the work he is carrying out.
The Director-General, for his part, presented the Organization’s new Hand-in-Hand initiative, which was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister as a great opportunity for his country.
