FAO and Norway agree on need to manage marine resources

23/10/2019

23 October 2019, Oslo - In talks today, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu and Harald Nevsik, Norway’s Minister of Fisheries and Seafood, agreed on the need to better manage the world’s marine resources.

The parties said it was necessary to protect the world’s marine resources and ensure that they were healthy and productive for future generations.

Qu warned that marine resources were under threat from the impact of climate change, pollution and their unsustainable use and that these challenges had to be addressed collectively and with urgency.
