Bilateral meeting with H.E. Daniel Ali Bandar, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Handicrafts of the Union of the Comoros

Rome – The FAO Director-General met with His Excellency Daniel Ali Bandar, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Handicrafts of the Union of the Comoros, on the sidelines of the World Food Forum 2025 and FAO’s 80th anniversary.
The Director-General warmly welcomed Minister Bandar and his delegation, appreciated the good relations between FAO and the Comoros and thanked the Government for their participation in the World Food Forum.
Minister Bandar congratulated the Director-General on the successful organization of the Forum, commending it as a valuable platform that brings together diverse stakeholders to share experiences, strengthen partnerships, and foster dialogue on global food security and sustainable development. The Minister also expressed his gratitude for FAO’s Hand-in-Hand Initiative, highlighting its positive impact in creating opportunities and hope for young people and women in Comoros and across the African continent.
The Director-General reaffirmed FAO’s commitment to continue supporting Comoros and looked forward to further strengthening collaboration in support of transforming the country’s agrifood system to achieve the Four Betters.
