Bilateral Meeting with H.E. Maria do Rosário Bragança, Minister of State for Social Sector of the Republic of Angola

Rome - FAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu, met today with H.E. Maria do Rosário Bragança, Minister of State for Social Sector, of the Republic of Angola on the margins of the 2025 World Food Forum and FAO's 80th Anniversary celebrations to review the ongoing collaboration between FAO and Angola. 

The Director-General and Minister discussed ways to further strengthen their strategic partnership and deliberated on various programmes that aim to boost local production, reduce import dependency, accelerate agrifood systems transformation and create jobs. 

They both agreed that FAO’s 80th anniversary comes at a critical time as 10 percent of the world's population is currently facing with hunger, and the Hand in Hand Investment Forum provides an important opportunity to attract investment in agriculture to accelerate agrifood systems transformation, and to improve rural people's livelihoods through job creation.
