Bilateral meeting with H.E. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research of Pakistan

Rome - On the occasion of the 44th Session of the FAO Ministerial Conference, the FAO Director-General held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research of Pakistan.

The Director-General welcomed the Minister and expressed appreciation for his participation in the Conference. He reiterated FAO’s commitment to equality among all Members and highlighted the importance of the principle “one country, one vote” as a foundation for inclusive cooperation.

Minister Hussain acknowledged the long-standing partnership between FAO and Pakistan and provided an overview of national efforts to strengthen agricultural sustainability and climate resilience. He shared updates on several initiatives currently underway with FAO’s involvement in various provinces.

Both sides expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation.
