Bilateral Meeting with The Honourable Alexander Nuetah, Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Liberia

Rome – The FAO Director-General, Dr QU Dongyu, met today with The Honourable Alexander Nuetah, Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Liberia on the margins of the 2025 World Food Forum and FAO's 80th Anniversary celebrations to review the ongoing collaboration between FAO and Liberia.
The Director-General welcomed the Minister, and commended Liberia on the good working relations with FAO. The Director-General reiterated his appreciation to the Government of Liberia for their support in the establishment of the Liberia Situation Room at FAO headquarters, noting the strategic relevant on the room for FAO, and for its work in crises.
The Minister thanked the Director-General for the opportunity to meet and congratulated him on the successful World Food Forum and on FAO’s 80th Anniversary.
The pai discussed ways to further strengthen their strategic partnership and deliberated on joint development programmes aimed at accelerating agrifood systems transformation, improve capacity building, and reduce poverty through initiatives such as the FAO Hand in Hand.
