Bilateral meeting with The Honourable J. Alexander Nuetah, Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Liberia

Rome - The FAO Director-General met with The Honourable J. Alexander Nuetah, Minister for Agriculture of the Republic of Liberia on the margins of the 44th Session of the FAO Ministerial Conference at the FAO headquarters.
The Director-General welcomed the Minister and commended the Government of Liberia for the efficiency with the establishment of the Liberia Situation Room at FAO headquarters. The Director-General also commended the steady growth of the country's GDP, and conveyed his appreciation of the support of the government of Liberia to the work of FAO.
The Director-General further encouraged Liberia to promote its coffee products by learning from various best international coffee producers and increase its value addition in line with the highest standards and methods. He also encouraged Liberia to consider rebranding their products, particularly the names on the products, to avoid confusion with other well known brands, and in this regard advised the Minister to focus on promoting one priority product to maximize benefits.
The Minister thanked the Director-General for the warm welcome and the support extended to the country by the FAO country teams. He indicated that Liberia would use the opportunity of the World Food Forum in October to promote their coffee through the Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum.
