Bilateral Meeting with The Honourable Russell Mmiso Dlamini, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini

Rome - The FAO Director-General, Dr Qu Dongyu, met today with The Honourable Russell Mmiso Dlamini, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini on the margins of the 2025 World Food Forum and FAO's 80th Anniversary celebrations. 

The Director-General welcomed the Prime Minister and expressed satisfaction with the signing of the host country agreement, to further strengthen collaboration in support of FAO’s mandate. The Director-General further applauded the government and the people of Eswatini for their efforts and positive work which had led to fruitful results. He reaffirmed FAO’s commitment to continue supporting the country in support of the transformation of its agrifood system.

The Prime Minister thanked the Director-General on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III for the signing of the host country agreement. The Prime Minister further appreciated the strong relations and collaboration between Eswatini and FAO that extends over many decades, and reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the FAO Country Office to further accelerate the transformation of Eswatini’s agrifood system.
