This review was presented at the Eleventh Session of the European Inland Fisheries Advisory Commission (EIFAC) which took place in Stavanger, Norway, from 28 May to 3 June 1980.

Subsequently the EIFAC Executive Committee proposed that it be published in the series EIFAC Occasional Papers, to give it a wider distribution.

ABSTRACT

This document reviews the establishment of the European Inland Fisheries Advisory Commission (EIFAC), the progress achieved during its first three sessions and the activities of its three sub-commissions since 1964.

It gives a list of EIFAC member countries, sessions, officers and publications as well as the Rules of Procedure of the Commission.

EUROPEAN INLAND FISHERIES ADVISORY COMMISSION (EIFAC)

EIFAC documents are issued in three series:

EIFAC Reports

Report of each Session in English and French

EIFAC Technical Papers

Selected scientific and technical papers, including some of those contributed as working documents to Sessions of the Commission or its Sub-Commissions. Published in English and French; or one of these languages

EIFAC Occasional Papers

Papers of general interest to the Commission. Published in the language submitted, either in English or French; sometimes in both languages
