APPOINTMENT OF THE INDEPENDENT CHAIRPERSON OF THE COUNCIL |
1. At its Hundred and Twenty-fourth Session, the Council decided that, in accordance with Rule XXIII-1(b) of the General Rules of the Organization, nominations for the office of Independent Chairperson of the Council should be communicated to the Secretary-General of the Conference and Council by 12.00 hours on Friday 5 September 2003.
2. By the date prescribed, the Secretary-General of the Conference and Council received one nomination, that of Mr Aziz Mekouar (Kingdom of Morocco). Copy of the Curriculum Vitae of the nominee and the transmittal communication are appended.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, Permanent Representation to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, presents its compliments to the Secretariat-General of the Conference and Council of the Organization, and has the honour to announce that the Government of His Majesty the King has decided to submit the candidature of Mr Aziz MEKOUAR for a second and final term of office as Independent Chairman of the Council of the Organization at the election to be held during the 32nd Session of the Conference, scheduled to take place in Rome from 29 November to 10 December 2003.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, Permanent Representation, requests that the Secretariat of the Organization kindly find attached a copy of the Curriculum Vitae of Mr Aziz MEKOUAR.
