REVISED CALENDAR OF FAO
GOVERNING BODIES AND OTHER MAIN SESSIONS

1. At its Sixty-sixth session (June 1975) the Council, after concluding that the number of Sessions and their programming was a fundamental problem, requested that "an annotated schedule for the next biennium of Sessions of the Council itself and those bodies which report to the Council should be submitted to the Sixty-eighth Council Session for approval, after adoption by the Conference of the Programme of Work and Budget, and that this schedule should be reviewed at subsequent Sessions of the Council as required".1
2. The Revised Calendar of FAO Governing Bodies and other Main Sessions 1998-99 is reproduced overleaf for information. Sessions already held during the biennium are listed so as to enable the Council to have a complete picture of the pattern of sessions for the entire 1998-99 biennium.
3. The dates shown in the Revised Calendar take into account the dates of the Governing Bodies of the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in order to avoid overlaps.
