26/01/2026
FAO has published the Flexible Voluntary Contribution (FVC) – Annual Progress Report 2024, highlighting how pooled, non-earmarked and softly earmarked partner contributions are driving innovation and impact across agrifood systems.
The report showcases key achievements of FVC-funded subprogrammes, including the Global Network of Digital Agriculture Innovation Hubs, which is accelerating the uptake of digital solutions by farmers, and the Innovation Policy Labs, which support participatory, evidence-based policymaking.
These are just two of the many initiatives that demonstrate how FVC is advancing FAO’s Four Betters and Programme Priority Areas, while strengthening FAO’s ability to deliver flexible, high-impact development results.
“Flexible Voluntary Contributions give FAO the agility to turn innovation into action. Through initiatives such as the Global Network of Digital Agriculture Innovation Hubs, flexible funding is helping scale digital solutions that respond to farmers’ needs, strengthen local innovation ecosystems, and accelerate progress towards FAO’s Four Betters.” said Nikola Trendov, Senior Digital Agriculture and Innovation Specialist, that leads the work on the Digital Agriculture Innovation Hubs in the Office of Innovation at FAO.
