Chinas Customs Authority suspended the import permits of selected Canadian rapeseed suppliers, citing phytosanitary concerns. The measure, which has led to a virtual standstill in Chinas rapeseed purchases from the worlds largest supplier, is expected to severely affect Canadas rapeseed industry, considering that China is Canadas top export market for rapeseed, rapeseed oil and meal.
