Event Location
Online workshop, Rome
Description

The workshop presented the results of a new study (2020), which is a continuation of a pilot study on monitoring agricultural and trade policy changes in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, Georgia, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Moldova), conducted in 2018 by the FAO Markets and Trade Division in collaboration with the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (AIS). The study updated data, indicators and expanded coverage of countries. Two countries, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, were added to the 2020 study. Policy indicators were calculated for a set of six to ten key agricultural commodities in different countries for the period 2005-2019. The budgetary and other support to agriculture has been analyzed in line with the OECD producer support estimate (PSE)/consumer support estimate (CSE) classification scheme
