Global engagement

FAO, together with other International Organizations, supports discussions in the Group of 7 (G7) and the Group of 20 (G20) through technical inputs and proposals for concrete actions. Countries brought together in these groups are key players in the food and agriculture sector, making these meetings important venues for policy dialogue on related issues.

Upon invitation, FAO produces thematic reports and technical notes on issues surrounding food and agriculture. Drawing from analysis and data, FAO proposes innovative approaches and concrete actions that promote a balanced and inclusive international food system.

There are already a number of G20 initiatives underway, such as the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS), the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP), and the Technical Platform on the Measurement and Reduction of Food Loss and Waste.
