Workshop on women and youth-led agribusinesses in Ghana 2019

FAO is engaging in multi-stakeholder dialogue on responsible investment in agriculture and food systems in Ghana. This has generated several policy recommendations and participants have committed to a draft action plan focusing on the involvement of women and youth in responsible agricultural investment, consisting of five thematic areas: land access; rural knowledge networks; agriculture innovation and Information and Communication Technology (ICT); youth and women-led agribusiness start-ups; and public-private partnerships.

Stakeholders have demonstrated an interest in youth-led agribusiness start-up companies in Ghana. FAO therefore organized a workshop on women and youth-led agribusinesses in Accra, 1 August 2019.

Participants of the workshop presented good practices for responsible agribusinesses and discussed the feasibility of actions proposed by participants of earlier events and the online forum for inclusion of women and youth in responsible investment in agriculture and food systems in Ghana
