In 1991, the Intergovernmental Group on Oilseeds, Oils and Fats (IGGOOF) was designated by the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) as International Commodity Body (ICB) responsible for the formulation,appraisal and supervision of projects on oilseeds, oils and meals. Since 1991, the Group has endorsed 17 projects worth almost US$ 49 million, located in Africa, Asia & Pacific, and Latin America & Caribbean.
The crops and commodities covered include oil palm, palm oil, palmkernel oil, coconut palm, coconut oil, groundnut, wild arachis, sheanut kernel & butter, jatropha & rapeseed oil, olive oil and sesame seed.
