Protecting the livelihoods of drought-affected households in Burkina Faso

Protecting the livelihoods of drought-affected households in Burkina Faso
Mar 2021

Thanks to funding from Sweden, FAO is supporting 18 700 drought-affected households in the Centre-North, North and Sahel regions of Burkina Faso through livelihoods assistance. At the end of February 2021, the resource partner visited three vegetable production sites in Yabo, in the Centre-North. Project activities are benefiting both displaced and host communities and together with Sweden, FAO staff and implementing partners, they discussed some of the initial lessons learned and recommendations, such as the need to further strengthen beneficiaries’ technical capacities and how to improve households’ purchasing power.
