FAO does not keep a roster of applicants. If interested, you will have to reapply when the next Call for Expression of Interest is published.

Yes. The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme accepts candidates aged from 18 and older.
I have a family member working as a consultant in FAO. Am I eligible for a volunteer assignment?
I have a family member working as a consultant in FAO. Am I eligible for a volunteer assignment?
No. Individuals with family members (defined as brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter) employed by FAO under any type of contractual arrangement, are not eligible for the FAO Regular Volunteer Programme.

Preferably, volunteers are assigned to FAO Offices/Project locations in their own country or country of residence.

Volunteers may be assigned different types of tasks according to the needs of the Organization in line with FAO Strategic Objectives and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
What is the duration of an FAO Regular Volunteer assignment?

The duration should not exceed six months.
Living in the Duty Station
Once selected as an FAO Regular Volunteer, will I receive any financial support from FAO?
Once selected as an FAO Regular Volunteer, will I receive any financial support from FAO?
No. FAO does not pay any remuneration to FAO Regular Volunteers. However, medical coverage related to service-incurred is provided, with FAO paying the full premium. Volunteers will be responsible for arranging, at their own expense, medical insurance covering non-service incurred during the duration of the assignment.
Is there any financial or organizational support for accommodation?

No. FAO Regular Volunteers (or their sponsoring associations as case may be) are responsible for their own accommodation at the duty station.
