Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) from 30 May to 3 June 2005
The workshop was organised by the International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture (France), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (France) , the French Agency for the Development, the World Bank and the Intergovernmental Agency for the francophone speaking countries.
The workshop was focused on the fight against hunger in rural areas and in setting a national strategy for rural agricultural training in four countries:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal.
The workshop recommends as follows:
- to create a system for vocational training as the basis of national strategy for rural agricultural training (SNFAR)
- that the outcome of SNFAR should be agreed among the national partners.
- each country that accepts SNFAR will be responsible for the establishment of a tripartite national office ( State/ civil society/contractors)
- the outlines of the national strategies for rural agricultural training have to be elaborated by Ministries of Education, Training, Labour and Finance.
The workshop was attended by 75 participants from national and international training associations.
