The PCP-FMD Support Officers

EuFMD, as part of the FMD working group, supports effective application of the PCP-FMD at country level, through the appointment of PCP-FMD Support Officers (PSOs). 

Introduced in 2017, the PSO initiative provides direct and tailored support to the Veterinary Services of countries when they are developing FMD control strategies in the first stages of the PCP-FMD. 

The distribution of PSO support can be seen in the PCP-FMD dashboard.  

A PSO will communicate regularly with competent authorities in-between FMD Roadmap meetings in order to develop, review, monitor or revise FMD national control strategies, aligned with the PCP-FMD guidelines and the country’s requirements.
