Following the last meeting of the Group for Vaccination Advice, Guidance and Consultation (GVA) for Foot-and-mouth And Similar Transboundary animal diseases (FAST) in North Africa held in November 2020, and the recent launch of the dedicated discussion forum via the EuFMD virtual learning platform, the EuFMD is organizing a second GVA meeting in North Africa. 

The objectives of the meeting are to: 

•  allow participating countries (Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia) to present their current situations and strategies in terms of foot-and-mouth disease and FAST diseases; 
• discuss studies and countries points of view and needs in terms of vaccination and post-vaccination monitoring; 
• discuss the objectives of the GVA and update the GVA group experts on the new features put in place; 
• present a brief history of FMD in North Africa and vaccines; 
• share Morocco's experience in the surveillance and control of foot-and-mouth disease; 
• elect the president of the core group; 
• discuss and validate the GVA annual action plan for North Africa; 
• facilitate the discussion for a regional approach.
