Real-Time Training courses are a unique form of training involving trainees from FMD-free countries working alongside national veterinary service trainees from the host country, to investigate naturally occurring cases of the disease.  

Given the value of this training, it is important to improve contact and networking amongst past participants, ensuring that these past trainees are able to play a role in maintaining high awareness levels and maintaining emergency response capacity. 

Aims and objectives 

The aim of the activity is to establish a community of participants who previously took part in EuFMD RTT. 

The reunion activities will include an initial reunion event/s that will seek to re-energize the network of previous RTT trainees and understand their priorities for future activities. 

The objectives of the reunion event are to:  

• refresh networks established during RTT training to maintain a cohort of awareness and response ‘champions’ that could support an FMD response;
• determine the level of impact of the RTT to inform future EuFMD training activities;
• assess current knowledge of RTT trainees;
• determine follow-up activities based on the discussions held during the event. 

The reunion event will be organized as a live simulation exercise using the online software platform Conducttr.
