Informal Consultation Meeting for the preparation of the 29th ERC and the 38th Session of the ECA

In preparation for the 29th FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) and the 38th Session of the European Commission on Agriculture (ECA), which will be held from 1 – 4 April 2014 in Bucharest, Romania a Second Informal Consultation will be organized by the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia.
The main objectives of the meeting will be to obtain member countries views on items, which are presented at the ECA and ERC in order to reflect positions better in the pre-session documents for the papers as well as to increase ownership and transparency in the process. The meeting will focus on the Programme of Work and Budget for the 2014-15 biennium based on the revised Strategic Framework of FAO. There will be also discussions on technical issues such as food loss and waste, value chain development through cooperatives in the Region as well as proposals for strengthening FAO governance in the Region.
The meeting will build on the Informal Consultation Meeting organized in Budapest, Hungary, May 2013.
