3rd Technical Advisory Committee Meeting for Central Asian and Caucasus Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, 16/02/2015 - 18/02/2015
The Third Meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Central Asian and Caucasus Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) will take place from 16th to 18th February 2015 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting will be attended both by CACFish Member States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkey) and invited CACFish non-member States.
As the subsidiary body of the Commission, TAC is mandated to produce scientific and technical advice in support of Commission’s work that primarily aims to promote sustainable management, conservation and development of fisheries resources in its competence area.
The meeting will bring together the researchers and experts working in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, proposing scientific and technical advice for the consideration of the Commission.
The meeting will focus on the following subjects in the context of technical and scientific advice:
- Fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance;
- Inland fish hatchery management; and
- FAO Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication.
Besides, the meeting will undertake the following activities:
- Review of the activities carried out during the intersessional period;
- Review the progress with the Five-year Regional Work Programme (2011-2015) of CACFish
- Review and adoption of Second Five-year Work Programme (2016-2020) for consideration of CACFish
- Intersessional Work Plan for 2015-2017
- Fisheries/aquaculture data and information
