The workshop was organized jointly by FAO SEU and the Rotterdam Convention Secretariat. A total of 24 participants from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine attended the meeting; including seven Designated National Authorities (DNA) and one CRC (Chemical Review Committee) expert. The countries had been selected to participate in the consultation on the basis of their level of experience in the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention. The overall objective of the workshop was to facilitate a national dialogue among relevant stakeholders on the implementation of the Rotterdam Convention as a means to identify key elements of a national plan or a strategy for the implementation of the Convention as well as priorities for action.
