Implementation of Phytosanitary Standards in Forestry

A capacity development workshop for participating countries of the region

The main objectives of the Regional Workshop are:

  1. to exchange experiences and share information on the status of the forest pest situation and to
    identify common forest pest problems within the region;
  2. to establish and improve the cooperation between national plant protection organizations (NPPOs)
    and forestry agencies responsible for forest protection;
  3. to formulate common approaches to implement phytosanitary standards in the forest sector;
  4. to introduce the FAO “Guide to implementation of phytosanitary standards in forestry”.
