The purpose of this workshop is to develop capacity in a range of areas related to the IPPC. This will include learning how to analyse draft ISPMs and to formulate productive comments using the examples of draft ISPMs for member consultation in 2016, to build phytosanitary capacity and raise awareness on all activities related to the IPPC and to exchange experiences at the regional level. In addition, the workshop participants will be informed about FAO projects and other capacity development activities in the region.

The participants’ responsibilities include:

• Analyzing the draft ISPMs and other documents available and working toward getting agreed country comments, before attending the workshop. 
• Attending all sessions planned in the program of the workshop and participating actively in the discussions.
• Providing comments on the draft ISPMs, and sharing them with the Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia Countries through IPPC Online Comment System (OCS) before attending the workshop.
• Practicing to use the OCS before attending the workshop. 
• Conducting all pre-training activities and preparing all the requested information to be shared and discussed during the workshop 
• Participating in the feedback evaluation at the end of the workshop.
• Sharing all information and results on the workshop with their colleagues, after returning to service.
