The Workshop is an important component of FAO’s ongoing work to support national efforts to improve the performance of the agricultural sector. The Workshop will build on recent FAO activities in Kyrgyzstan, which revealed major gaps in the mainstreaming of gender in the existing agricultural policy framework.

The main aims of the Workshop will be to: (a) introduce FAO’s novel methodology for participatory gender assessment of agricultural policies, (b) discuss practical aspects of implementing this methodology in Kyrgyzstan, and (c) identify key partners to support and guide this initiative in the coming months, to ensure full alignment with national priorities and ongoing policy processes.
