"Sustainable utilization of plant genetic resources for agriculture and food” International Scientific conference

The FAO with its regional and country offices is playing a lead role in strengthening countries capacity in sustainable use and conservation of genetic resources for food and agriculture. Regional office for Europe and Central Asia (FAO REU) is implementing, among the others, several projects in area of plant genetic resources for example in Armenia, Belarus and Moldova too. These projects support the development of a National Programmes in these countries to conserve and use plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, as part of these projects the FAO REU support the above mentioned countries to participate on the "Sustainable utilization of plant genetic resources for agriculture and food” international conference, Piešťany, Sovak Republic to strength their . Overall six people will participate from the three countries and Avetik Nersisyan, Agricultural Officer of the FAO REU, who will deliver a presentation to draw intention to the pursuit of the FAO in the Region.
