FAO has recently provided support to Azerbaijan to facilitate the ratification of the Rotterdam Convention, particularly the preparation of the Report on “Identification of gaps and opportunities at national level and the identification of possible steps towards the ratification of the Rotterdam Convention by Azerbaijan and facilitation of this process” as well as the translation of the Convention text into Azerbaijani. Moreover, FAO together with the Secretariat of the Rotterdam Convention organized  a Regional Consultation on “Implementation of the Rotterdam Convention in synergy with Basel and Stockholm Conventions: An integrated approach to pesticides and chemicals management at national and regional level” in Bishkek from 16 to 18 November 2015, where the representatives from Azerbaijan participated as well. As a next step FAO is organizing the current Stakeholders’ Consultation with the participation of representatives of Government Agencies, CSOs/NGOs, academia, research institutions, chemial insdustry, etc.
