Regional workshop on the WTO instruments in the interest of agribusiness
Hybrid Event, 11/09/2018 - 13/09/2018
The regional workshop will bring together agribusiness representatives and international trade experts from the post-soviet countries to enhance the understanding of the WTO instruments for agribusiness and support broader capacity development in this area. International trade experts will present the guide “How to use WTO instruments in the interests of agribusiness” prepared by FAO. The representatives of agrarian associations from the post-Soviet countries will learn about a wide range of instruments to protect their interests in trade and to promote agricultural products in foreign markets.
The agribusiness of WTO Members can greatly benefit from the application of the WTO instruments that facilitate trade and protect from discrimination. Moreover, small and medium agribusinesses can also directly use some of these instruments for better market access, in particular transparency instruments. Furthermore, the regional workshop will also launch an export promotion guide prepared by the International Trade Centre (ITC, Geneva, Switzerland).
