FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia

Consultation with the private sector (EU) to the Regional Conference for Europe 2026

Brussels (Belgium), 22/04/2026

10:00 - 12:30 CEST

Ahead of the 35th Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC35), to be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, from 11 to 15 May 2026, FAO is convening a dialogue with EU-based private sector representatives in Brussels, organized by the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and the FAO Liaison Office in Brussels, in collaboration with the European Dairy Association (EDA).

The objective of the consultation is to provide a platform for private sector actors to exchange perspectives on key agrifood system challenges and opportunities in the region. The discussion will contribute to shaping priority messages from EU-based private sector stakeholders ahead of the Regional Conference.

The consultation also provides a platform for formulating strategic key messages and recommendations reflecting private sector priorities for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems in Europe and Central Asia and for the selection of three private sector spokespersons to represent the EU-based private sector constituency at the FAO Regional Conference. A summary report with key messages and selected spokespersons will be shared after the event.

It will also provide a structured platform for exchange among stakeholders active across agrifood systems in the region, while offering an opportunity to present key priorities and innovative approaches under the FAO Strategy for Private Sector Engagement 2026–2030, thereby reinforcing FAO’s commitment to sustaining continuous and constructive dialogue with the private sector.

The event will take place in English.
