Ukraine dairy products find a new market in China

Ukraine can officially start supplying its dairy products to China, a huge potential market, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine announced a few days ago.

This notable achievement was realized with the efforts of a Ukrainian dairy working group composed of the three leading industry associations, the Ministry, FAO, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The working group, established in 2013, was created to launch public-private dialogue in the dairy sector with the goal of improving national production through supportive policies and strategic marketing. Since 2014, the working group has asked the government to prioritize dairy exports to China. Now, following more than a year of inspections and visits on both sides, their call has been answered.

This new access to the important and large Chinese market will have a positive impact on Ukrainian dairy exports and standards. The working group and the Ministry will continue to cooperate for sustained production growth and quality improvements as it expands its diversification efforts.
