Southeastern Turkey already has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. This region has now absorbed most of the 3.5 million Syrian refugees who have arrived since the start of the war, and competition for jobs is fierce.
Yet employers are looking for people with specific skills, and say it’s difficult to find the right people.
Agriculture is one of the sectors that has the capacity to employ more people: farms and agricultural producers need skilled workers to get their companies operating to their full potential.
