L’évaluation à la FAO

Evaluation of FAO’s Contribution in Trinidad and Tobago

This evaluation reviewed FAO’s investments, technical assistance and collaboration in Trinidad and Tobago from 2010 to 2015. It found that FAO has played a key role in supporting the development of policies and guidelines on forestry, nutrition and natural resource management, which has helped re-establish support by donors and partners who had earlier stopped supporting the country because of a lack of policies. FAO has supported new value chain agriculture especially the development of cassava as a staple crop. It however notes that a number of these policy initiatives are still in progress and that the value chain approaches were not sufficiently market-driven. It recommends that FAO revisit its value chain support to cassava production to make it more market-driven and strengthen support for policy formulation and implementation.
