European Orchard in the North of Moldova

Although he comes from a family of teachers, and graduated from a pedagogical department, he focused on another field. Like many other Moldovans, he worked for some years abroad. When he returned home, he decided it was time for him to build his future in his own country, closer to dear people. And he did it. Still, the entrepreneur says the experience he gained abroad gave him an impulse, because he saw, with his own eyes, how Italians work the land. And he decided to implement all the technologies on native lands, which, he thinks, are rich and rank. Arcadii Camerzan is a man of his word. When he decided to start a business, he did all his best to make it a very successful one. He founded his household in 2005, and now, he owns a 20 ha agricultural plot. Three years later, he decided to plant a semi-intensive type orchard, on 6.50 ha of land, and that was his greatest challenge. The experience he gained abroad was of great help. “In Italy I worked in agriculture – I was clearing old vine yards and orchards and I was planting new ones. Having seen the state of the art in agriculture and having noted how efficient the Italians were, I decided to do the same in Moldova”. The entrepreneur thinks, and he is positive about it, that agriculture is the most important source of wealth for Moldovans. He started to work the land skillfully and efficiently. He started planting orchards. But the draughts were a great challenge for him. Helped by experts, Arcadii Camerzan has worked out a project, put on paper all his ideas. He intended to plant a protection forest line: „ The project included three elements: procuring a cultivator, to work the land, planting a forest line, made of two sorts of trees – the graft nut tree and graft wild cherry trees and purchasing a dripping irrigation system for one ha of land”.
